wetland , with a gradient from freshwater tobrackish water, and is an important feeding and breeding ground on migratory birdflyway . The lake is one of the largest wetlands in peninsular India, and is considered a wetland of both national and international importance by theIUCN . It is currently threatened by encroachment from agricultural fields,wildlife poaching , loss of the surroundingforest s, and increased commercialprawn farming.The ruins of
