Wattle Downs is a suburb of Manukau City, one of the four cities that make up the conurbation of Auckland, New Zealand, in northern New Zealand.

The suburb is located on the Mahia peninsula on the Manukau Harbour, along with Wattle Cove.

It is 25 kilometres south of Auckland city centre and 10 kilometres south of Manukau city centre.

Development

Originally the Mahia peninsula was farmland (Wattle farm) but has been developed in a number of phases. The area is almost exclusively residential, with only a few shops and schools.

Education

Reremoana Primary School is a new school which opened on 7 February2006. It has been built to cater for the rapidly growing population in the local area. [http://www.beehive.govt.nz/ViewDocument.aspx?DocumentID=21083]
