(2001)"The Fight Song" is the second single from Marilyn Manson's fourth studio album "
Holy Wood (In the Shadow of the Valley of Death) ". The music video for this song, directed byW.I.Z. , shows the band members performing the song at a high school football game between 2 teams: "Holy Wood" and "Death Valley". The game itself is a metaphor for the conflict amongst both (in the album's concept) the rejects living in the Valley of Death and the beautiful people living in Holy Wood (itself a pun onHollywood ) as well as, possibly, the conflict of upper and lower classes, as inspired byFriedrich Nietzsche (seeMaster-slave morality ). A remix appears on the Resident Evil soundtrack. The song uses a quote from "The Black Obelisk " byErich Maria Remarque , as Manson sings "The death of one is a tragedy / The death of a million is just a statistic".The video for this song is one of the bonus features on the
Bowling for Columbine DVD.Track listing

#Astonishing Panorama of the Endtimes The Fight Song lyrics
Nothing suffocates you more than the passing of everyday human eventsIsolation is the oxygen mask you make your children breath into survive
But I'm not a slave to a god that doesn't existBut I'm not a slave to a world that doesn't give a shit
And when we were good you just closed you eyesSo when we are bad we'll scar your minds
fight, fight, fight, fight
You'll never grow up to be a big-rock-star-celebrated-victim-of-your-fameThey'll just cut our wrists like cheap coupons and say that death was on sale today
And when we were good you just closed you eyesSo when we are bad we'll scar your minds
But I'm not a slave to a god that doesn't existBut I'm not a slave to a world that doesn't give a shit
the death of one is a tragedythe death of one is a tragedythe death of one is a tragedybut death of a million is just a statistic
