The Cavalier Song

The Cavalier Song is the official fight song of the University of Virginia. The song was a result of a contest held in 1923 by the University. The Cavalier Song, with lyrics by Lawrence Haywood Lee, Jr. and music by Fulton Lewis, Jr., was selected as the winner [ [http://www.virginiasports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=17800&KEY=&ATCLID=1134444 Traditions - University of Virginia Cavaliers Official Athletic Site - VirginiaSports.com ] ] . Generally the second half of the song is played during sporting events while the entire song can be heard at the Cavalier Marching Band's entrance during home football games.
