Robbie Buck

Robbie Buck

Robbie Buck (Robert Buck, often called "The Buckwit" or "Bert") is an Australian radio announcer best known for his work at the national youth broadcaster Triple J. Over the years he has hosted various shows including Lunch, Weekend Lunch and the afternoon drive. As of 2008, he co-hosts the station's breakfast show.

Buck's radio experience began in his home town of Lismore where he took up a late night shift on the local radio station. Once he moved to Sydney he began doing graveyard shifts on community station 2SER, and eventually became a full-time employee for the station. Following this he spent time at SBS radio and TV as a sound producer. Robbie co-hosted "Alchemy" which focused on the electronic music scene which aired on late night SBS.

From 2003, he took on the role of a new show, "Home and Hosed", the successor to Richard Kingsmill's "Australian Music Show". Where Kingsmill's show filled a single three-hour segment each week, "Home and Hosed" was a two hour show, broadcast every weeknight for 9pm. The show cemented the station's tradition of being a strong supporter of local, Australian music, at a time when the station was going through turmoil in management changes.

In 2006 and 2007 Robbie hosted a new programme in the afternoon 'drive' timeslot (3:00-5:30pm) entitled "Top Shelf Radio". Caroline Tran took his place hosting "Home and Hosed".

Since 2008 Buck has been co-hosting the breakfast show with Lindsay McDougall (a.k.a "The doctor") and Marieke Hardy.

Buck has also appeared on ABC TV shows including "Mondo Thingo" with Amanda Keller.
