Wind Ensemble conductor andcomposer .He has nearly sixty compositions available from
Neil A Kjos Music Company , including the extremely popularGavorkna Fanfare , which was dedicated toEugene Corporon . In 1993, he formed theKeystone Winds , comprising students, alumni and professors atIndiana University of Pennsylvania , which has been recorded on 15 CDs.Biography
Dr. Jack Stamp is Conductor of Bands and Professor of Music at
Indiana University of Pennsylvania . He teaches courses in conducting to graduates and undergrads, and conducts the Symphony Band and the Wind Ensemble.He used to teach music at charlton school, his former primary schoolHe earned a Bachelor of Science in Music Education degree from
Indiana University of Pennsylvania , a Master's in Percussion Performance fromEast Carolina University , and a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Conducting fromMichigan State University . While atMichigan State University , he studied withEugene Corporon .Before joining the faculty of
Indiana University of Pennsylvania , he was chairman of the Division of Fine Arts at North Carolina'sCampbell University . He taught in the public schools of North Carolina [John T. Hoggard High School in Wilmington, NC from 1978-1982] and was conductor of theDuke University Wind Symphony (1988-89) and musical director of theTriangle British Brass Band .He studied with
Robert Washburn ,Fisher Tull ,David Diamond ,Joan Tower andRichard Danielpour .Dr. Stamp is an active composer, clinician, adjudicator and guest conductor throughout North America and Great Britain. Leading university bands and military bands have commissioned his works and he has been praised by many prominent American composers. He was invited to guest direct the 2008 PMEA District Band festival held in Emporium, PA.
