The Zimbabwe Cycling Federation or ZCF is the national governing body of cycle racing in Zimbabwe.
ZCF 2007 Committee:President- Alan Winterton, Vice President- Marcel Mashall, Secretary General- Paulo Goncalves and, Treasurer- Monty Thackery.
One of Zimbabwe's most famous racers is Timothy Jones (cyclist), who raced as a professional in Europe for the past 6 years. His most acclaimed victories include the 1998 Giro del Capo in South Africa, Tour of Slovenia, and the Trofeo del Etna in Italy.
Linda Davidson is considered by many as the best known Zimbabwe female rider after she won a Bronze medal in the time trial at the 2006 African Championships.
Other top riders include the likes of Conway Mohamed, Gavin Sutherland, Brian Zengeni, Dean Hayes and Mike Murdoch.
Zimbabwe has competed in numerous African Cycling Tours; namely the Giro del Capo in South Africa, and the Tour du Faso in Burkina Faso.
In July 2007 Zimbabwe entered a 9 member team which included Antipas Kwari, Wonder Matenje, Wayne Davidson, Lee Mc Nab, Byron Munyoro,. Margie Gibson, Trevor Volker, Prince Ngundu and Warren Carne in the UCI [http://www.africachamps-windhoek.com/index.html African] Mountain Bike Championships that were held in Windhoek Namibia along with South Africa, Rwanda, Namibia and Mauritus. Zimbabwe [http://www.cyclingnews.com/mtb/?id=2007/jul07/africacc07 fared well] with Margie Gibson attaining Gold in the Veteran Ladies Cross Country and Trevor Volker Bronze in the Sub Vets Cross Country races. Antipas Kwari finished 8th in the Pro Elite Race and Prince Ngundu 4th in the Men's U23's. The event in Namibia was the first UCI international by a Zimbabwe Mountain Bike team, prior to that Zimbabwe had only ever competed in the road and cyclo cross discipline.
Zimbabwe will compete in the mens XC MTB at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and will in all likelihood be represented by Antipas Kwari.
The ZCF is a member of the Confederation Africaine de Cyclisme.
