Isoma Karyon or Isoma Karion (Greek: Ίσωμα Καρυών) is a Greek village located approximately 10 km west-northwest (old; 10 km) from
Megalopoli as well as from the non-freeway standard of GR-7/E65 (Kalamata -Megalopoli - Tripoli) otherwise known as the old road. Isoma Karyon belongs to the municipality ofMegalopoli . Isoma Karyon is connected to a road linking Kyparissia, Thoknia and the major town of Megalopoli.History
The population reached its peak in the early to mid-20th century. Since the mid-20th century, the population has been declining , particularly after the two conflicts, the
World War II and theGreek Civil War as people left the village for a better life in other parts of Greece and in other parts of the world (mainlyNorth America ). The pace of the population's decline rarely slowed in the late-20th century. According to the 1981 and 1991 census, the village's population showed an upward short-lived trend, returning to the constant declining level (the majority of the population are mainly over 50 years old).Nearest places

The village's morphology consists of farmlands, mainly groves and pastures with fruits, vegetables and other crops covering the eastern and northern areas. Forests in the nearby area cover over 60 to 70% of the area. The nearby mountains to the west of the village are mainly covered with grassland and the Lykaio mountain is located northwest of the village. The
lignite mining area which has been used to produce electricity for its nearby power plant is located in the northeastern part of the village and has been mined since the 1970sPopulation
