This is an incomplete list of Royal Commissions appointed by the Sovereign in Right of Canada.
Royal Commission s have been held in Canada since Confederation; they usually consist of a panel of experts appointed by the Governor-in-Council to carry out full investigations of specific national problems. When the investigation is complete, the findings of the commission are reported to the Cabinet for appropriate action.
