Career

Farmer began in the entertainment industry as a publicity consultant for DeLaurentiis Entertainment Group, securing international press for projects by Stephen King, Sam Raimi, Drew Barrymore, James Woods, David Lynch, and others.

Farmer soon made the transition from film publicity to television and film production. His first project was a one hour television forum titled An Evening With Al Gore for Tennessee's WCTE-TV, providing the future Vice President with one of his first solo public interview specials during the early years of his political career.

After producing six feature films for the international video and television market, in 1994 Farmer was named Vice President of Atlanta's Stratosphere Entertainment, overseeing the production of television features for domestic broadcast on Cinemax and overseas distribution in over 30 countries worldwide.

Farmer has also produced or consulted on original short and long form programming for a list of clients that includes ABC, Spike TV, On Demand, and Showtime.

Recent Work

Since 2002, Farmer has been a regular supplier of original DVD features to Blockbuster Video, and in 2005 he received a Silver Remi Award at the WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival as the producer of Bollywood and Vine.

Most recently, Farmer returned to his roots as a public affairs producer by spearheading the Iraq war documentary Whose War? made in collaboration with actor Mike Farrell, musician Jello Biafra, and director Keith Gordon.

In 2009, Farmer appeared as a cast member on the VH1 reality television show Megan Wants a Millionaire.[1] In 2010 he appeared with Gwyneth Paltrow and Leighton Meester in the film Country Strong.
