The Assassin's Gate is one of four primary points of entry to the Green Zone in Baghdad, Iraq. The name originates from the unit initially providing security at the gate and does not refer to an event nor have any Iraqi meaning. According to local tradition, Saddam Hussein wanted to relocate the Dome of the Rock from Jerusalem to Iraq. Being unable to do so he ordered a scaled-down replica of the Qubbat As-Sakhrah constructed in Baghdad.
