Thomas Cobham was an English churchman, who was archbishop of Canterbury-elect in 1313 and later Bishop of Worcester.

He earned a Doctor of Theology and a Doctor of Canon Law. [http://british-history.ac.uk/report.asp?compid=32732 British History Online Bishops of Worcester] accessed on September 11, 2007] Having been appointed Archdeacon of Lewes in 1301 [http://www.british-history.ac.uk/report.asp?compid=32098 British History Online Archdeacons of Lewes] accessed on September 11, 2007] and Chancellor of Cambridge, Cobham was nominated to replace Archbishop Robert Winchelsey in 1313, by the monks of Christ Church Priory, Canterbury.Weir "Queen Isabella" p. 94] The election took place on 28 May 1313.Fryde "Handbook of British Chronology" p. 233] King Edward II intervened and petitioned the Pope to appoint the bishop of Worcester Walter Reynolds. Pope Clement V acquiesced and issued a bull dismissing the monk's election of Cobham on 1 October 1313 and instating Reynolds in his stead.Weir "Queen Isabella" p. 95]

On 31 March 1317, Cobham was provided to the bishopric of Worcester, and was consecrated on 22 May 1317.Fryde "Handbook of British Chronology" p. 279] Cobham, along with Archbishop Melton, and the bishops of London and Rochester alone spoke up in Edward II's defense during the Parliamentary session that deposed Edward.Weir "Queen Isabella" p. 257]

He died on 27 August 1327.
