Alison Weir (born
1951 ) is a Britishwriter ofhistory books, mostly in the form of biographies about British royalty.She currently lives in
Surrey ,England , with her two children, John and Kate.Before becoming an author, Weir worked as a teacher of children with special needs. She received her formal training in history at teacher training college.
Weir retains a wide following of loyal readers. Most of her books are best-sellers in the UK. In
2007 , she completed her first novel "Innocent Traitor", based on the life ofLady Jane Grey (1537–1554) Her newest novel is a fictional treatment dealing with the life ofQueen Elizabeth I before her accession to the throne. It was published in2008 in theUK andUnited States .Bibliography
