* Undefined "Stahleckeria" specimen (Price described this specimen in 1944)"Stahleckeria" was a
Middle Triassic dicynodont, living about 240 million years ago. It was similar to "Kannemeyeria " and their kin. It is sometimes pictured as a hairymammal-like reptile , or a bumpy, scaly beast. Dicynodonts aremammal-like reptile s, the opposites of cynodonts (who are very mammal-like)."Stahleckeria potens" [ [http://www.royalsul.com.br/paleo/meio.asp?dinocod=14 "Stahleckeria potens"] ] was collected for the first time by
paleontologist Friedrich von Huene in 1935, inPaleontological Site Chiniquá located ongeopark ofpaleorrota inBrazil . It was aherbivore that is found in theSanta Maria Formation , has 4 meters and weighed approximately 400 kg. They lived withDinodontosaurus , although less often and differed from the same by its larger size. The differences between "Stahleckeria" andDinodontosaurus certainly reflected adjustments for feeds based on different types of plants.
The fossils of "Stahleckeria potens" are currently inGermany in the museum of theUniversity of Tübingen .Notes and references
