"Stahleckeria" was a Middle Triassic dicynodont, living about 240 million years ago. It was similar to "Kannemeyeria" and their kin. It is sometimes pictured as a hairy mammal-like reptile, or a bumpy, scaly beast. Dicynodonts are mammal-like reptiles, the opposites of cynodonts (who are very mammal-like).

"Stahleckeria potens" [ [http://www.royalsul.com.br/paleo/meio.asp?dinocod=14 "Stahleckeria potens"] ] was collected for the first time by paleontologist Friedrich von Huene in 1935, in Paleontological Site Chiniquá located on geopark of paleorrota in Brazil. It was a herbivore that is found in the Santa Maria Formation, has 4 meters and weighed approximately 400 kg. They lived with Dinodontosaurus, although less often and differed from the same by its larger size. The differences between "Stahleckeria" and Dinodontosaurus certainly reflected adjustments for feeds based on different types of plants.
The fossils of "Stahleckeria potens" are currently in Germany in the museum of the University of Tübingen.
