Tracht is traditional Austrian and Bavarian
costume . Recently, there has been a renewed interest in tracht.The tracht of southern Germans and
Austria has inspired an entirely new fashion style, calledLandhausmode ("Country Estate" Style).Landhausmode , influenced by thecostume s of thefarmer s,peasant s and rural people, and characterized by the use oflinen ,loden (a traditional type offelt that has recently gained popularity worldwide) andembroidery , is somewhat analogous to North American Western Wear, in that there is a relationship betweenLandhausmode andAlpenrock (a style ofrock music influenced by traditional Alpine songs), just as there is a relationship between Western Wear andCountry Music .
