- Ha-Iltzuk Icefield
The Ha-Iltzuk Icefield is an
icefield in the centralPacific Ranges of theCoast Mountains inBritish Columbia ,Canada . It is the largest icefield in the Coast Mountains south of theAlaska Panhandle , with an area of 3610 km². The highest summit in the icefield isMount Silverthrone , which is a mountain on the northeast edge of a circular, 20 km wide, deeply dissectedcaldera complex called theSilverthrone Caldera in the southern half of the icefield, which is named theSilverthrone Glacier and which flows west, joining theKlinaklini Glacier just above that glacier's terminus, where its outflow is the short but very large, and joins theKlinaklini River within a few kilometres. The Klinaklini Glacier constitutes the northern half of the icefield, and off its northwest edge a glacial tongue produces the head of theMachmell River . The name Ha-Iltzuk Icefield doest not appear in government gazettes.ee also
