Biography
Danava formed in 2003 by Gregory Meleney, Monte Mattsson, Zachariah Dellorto-Blackwell, and Ben Vargas. Gregory and Monte had known each other as teenagers in Quincy, IL, met Zacharaih later and moved to Portland, OR where they met Ben. They put out a demo together in 2004.
The position of keyboardist was one of a revolving door. Gregory Meleney actually played 98% of all the keyboards on both records.
They have toured with Down (twice), Voivod, The Melvins, Acid Mothers Temple, Witchcraft(3X), Weedeater, Gentlemans Pistols and played 2008 Roadburn festival in the Netherlands; and released a video for "Where Beauty And Terror Dance" which was aired on MTV2's Headbangers Ball.
In Sept. 2009 Monte Mattsson left the group to pursue his studies in Biology and was replaced by Matt Oliver. Rhythm guitarist Andrew Forgash also joined at this time.
