Edoardo Molinari (born
11 February 1981 ) is an Italian golfer. He holds an engineering degree. In 2005 he became the first Italian and the first Continental European to win theU.S. Amateur Championship by making a 25-foot birdie putt at the 33rd hole. He won with 4 & 3 over the American Dillon Dougherty. As a result of that win he was allowed to take part in the 2006 Masters and the 2006 British Open Championship. His brother Francesco Molinari caddied for him at that year's Masters. He turned professional in 2006. In 2007 he won theClub Colombia Masters and theKenya Open on Europe's second tierprofessional golf tour , theChallenge Tour .Edoardo Molinari's younger brother Francesco is a
