Collège des Grands-Lacs Active 1995–2001 Type francophone College of Applied Arts and Technology Location Toronto, Ontario, Canada Collège des Grands-Lacs (English, College of the Great Lakes) was a francophone College of Applied Arts and Technology in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
It was established in 1995 as Ontario's third college specifically serving the Franco-Ontarian population, after La Cité collégiale in Ottawa and Collège Boréal in Sudbury.
It began as a "virtual college", i.e., it had no physical campus, and offered instruction only by distance. In 1999, a campus was opened on College Street in Toronto.[1] In 2001, however, the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party government of Mike Harris decided to close the college.[2]
The college ceased operations in 2002. Its programs and services were taken over by Collège Boréal, which offers classes on the Carlaw Avenue campus of Centennial College in Toronto.
