History

Portico Systems was founded in 1997, originally under the name "FMG Technologies, Inc".

Portico has been based in the Greater Philadelphia Region since inception, with offices formerly located in Center City, Blue Bell, and Norristown. The company is currently headquarted in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia.

While the bulk of the employees live and work in the Philadelphia area, Portico has employees located nationwide.

Products and Customers

Portico Systems offers health plans software solutions focused on Provider Network Management.

Technologies

Portico products are Java EE based enterprise class applications with an RDBMS backend. Users interact with an entirely browser based presentation layer, and integration into the health plan is typically via SOAP, XML over HTTP, RMI, CORBA, FTP, or TCP/IP.
