In the early 1960s actor Henry 'Hank' McCune of television's
The Hank McCune Show (the first show to ever use a laugh track) began buildingyacht s, amongst them some of the first fiberglass boats to be built in the Long Beach area (Wilmington). McCune also built the first of the Victory 21 class of boats and the "All-American" convert|28|ft|m|sing=on boat which in 1962 had arguably the first fin keel with spade rudder on a fiberglass boat used for offshore racing. Towards the end of his boat building career he built the Yorktown 39 series of yachts, which were built by his yard.He also sold a line of customer finished yachts.
