Iowa Highway 127 east of Mondamin. The north terminus is at an intersection withIowa Highway 141 in Ute.Previously, the highway had its southern terminus at
U.S. Route 30 in Missouri Valley (1968-1970),U.S. Route 6 in Council Bluffs (1970-1981) and the north city limits of Council Bluffs (1981-July 1, 2003). The highway as currently constituted is the same as it was when it was commissioned in 1930. The previously existing segment between Missouri Valley and Council Bluffs was a portion of theLincoln Highway and is now County Highway L20 in Harrison and Pottawattamie Counties.Route Description
Iowa Highway 183 begins east of Mondamin at an intersection with
Iowa Highway 127 . It goes north-northeasterly through theLoess Hills and goes through the villages of Pisgah, Moorhead, and Soldier. At Soldier, it intersectsIowa Highway 37 . It continues on, and at Ute, it meetsIowa Highway 141 and ends.For most of the current route, Iowa Highway 183 parallels the
