Iowa Highway 37 is an east-west road in the west-central part of the state. A small portion near Turin is designated as part of the Loess Hills Scenic Byway.

Termini

Iowa 37's western terminus is just east of the village of Turin in central Monona County at the highway's junction with Iowa Highway 175. Its eastern terminus is four miles east of Earling at its junction with U.S. Route 59.

Route description

Iowa Highway 37 begins near Turin at an intersection with Iowa Highway 175. It runs east, then turns southeast to go through Soldier, where it meets Iowa Highway 183. It continues southeasterly and meets U.S. Highway 30 in Dunlap. After briefly overlapping in Dunlap, it follows a southeasterly alignment until shortly before Earling. It goes east through Earling and meets Iowa Highway 191 there. It continues east and ends when it meets U.S. Highway 59 east of Earling.

History

Iowa 37 formerly extended to Onawa along Iowa 175. It was truncated to Turin in 1966. It also once extended to Irwin but was decommissioned east of US 59 in 1980.Iowahighwaysref|lowrg=30|hirng=39|num=37|m_iter=yes|access_date=25 October 2006]
