This article is about the soap opera character. For the son of the British prime minister, see Tony Blair.
Nicholas Blair was a warlock on the 1966 soap opera Dark Shadows. He first appeared on June 25, 1968, as the brother of witch Angelique who at the time was disguised as Cassandra Collins, wife of Roger Collins.
Nicholas was much more powerful than Angelique, and the only one at Collinwood who had any control over her.
At first, he aided Angelique in her revenge against Barnabas Collins, but when a Doctor named Eric Lang created a human being named Adam from body parts and gave him life, Nicholas alters his plans: to create a race of super beings for his master, the Devil, to rule the world.
To punish Angelique for her failings, he strips her of her powers. She ages and dies, only to be resurrected by Nicholas as his vampire slave.
A mate was eventually created for Adam, called Eve. Adam later kills Eve. Nicholas ultimately fails to revive her. He is punished by his master by being sent back to Hell.
Nicholas returned later to help a race called the Leviathans conquer the earth. The plan fails when the Leviathan leader Jeb Hawkes fell in love with Carolyn Stoddard and decided that he preferred to live as a human. Jeb then killed Nicholas by placing a shadow on his heart.
Nicholas Blair was portrayed by Humbert Allen Astredo.
