Battle of the Choirs Controversy
Canterbury College's all girls choir, Cantabile, performed on the Channel 7 reality television show "Battle of the Choirs", and was voted off in the first episode. This promted the Choir leader, Susan Gouche, to confront the judges after the show, and exchange in a verbal disagreement that resulted in her being escorted from the Channel 7 studios by stage security. She was subsequently dimissed by the Board of Directors for publicly embarrasing the College. Dr. Katrine Loraine was employed within the following weeks to take on Ms. Gouche's former position.
