Job for a Cowboy is a American death metal band, formed in Glendale, Arizona in 2002. History

Formation and "Doom" (2002–2006)

Job for a Cowboy was formed in Glendale, Arizona in 2002 by vocalist Jonny Davy, guitarists Ravi Bhadriraju and Andrew Arcurio, bassist Chad Staples, and drummer Andy Rysdam, with this initial line-up they released in 2004 a deathcore orientated three-track demo. In November 2005, Job for a Cowboy recorded a self-financed EP entitled "Doom", that attracted the attention of Arizona independent label King of the Monsters, who distributed the disc after an initial self-released pressing by the band. In February 2006, they played at The Los Angeles Murderfest festival at The Knitting Factory in Hollywood, California—along with Disgorge, Impaled and With Passion. "Genesis" (2007–present)

On March 1, 2007, Job for a Cowboy completed work on their full-length debut, entitled "Genesis". The album received generally positive reviews, with UK's "Kerrang!" saying, "an album that quite literally obliterates everyone else currently residing within the death and grind [metal] scenes" and "one of the year's most essential metal purchases".
