Patrolships

The Patrolships, currently in order for the Royal Danish Navy, are highly advanced air-defence frigates. The ships are based on design of the Danish sclass|Absalon|command and support ship|0 command and support ships, which will enter service in 2007. The first Patrolship will enter service in 2011, the building of the ships will start in 2008 on Odense Staalskibsværft A/S. These ships could be classified as destroyers, but are using the "F" classification for Frigate. For political reasons the name Patrolship was chosen.
