Antony Green is an election commentator for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). He is a data expert who has appeared on the ABC's election night television coverage since the 1993 federal election.
Green holds two undergraduate degrees: a
Bachelor of Science inmathematics andcomputing , and aBachelor of Economics with honours inpolitics . Green worked as a data analyst in the computing industry and for a polling company before joining the ABC in 1989.As of 2007 he had analysed 37 Australian territory, state and federal elections for the ABC, starting with the 1989
Queensland state election to the 2007 Federal election. The computer system that he uses to predict election results based on partial counts is of his design.In addition to analysing and commenting on elections for the ABC, Green writes election analysis for third party media outlets such as "
The Sydney Morning Herald " and "Crikey " and has appeared before the Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters of theAustralian House of Representatives urging reform of the ticket voting system used inAustralian Senate elections. Antony is seen by many in thepsephological community as the leading expert.External links
