Manny Ward (born 1968, in New York City) is a famous House DJ, remixer and record producer.

DJ

In 1985 he began his career at the NCO club on Cannon Air Force Base. After leaving the US Air Force in 1990 he returned home to New York City and took some time to get reconnected to the New York house music scene.

He did opening up for DJs David Morales, Shep Pettibone and Frankie Knuckles, and these opening spots helped him become known. Inspired by the sound of Junior Vasquez, Frankie Knuckles and Timmy Regisford he started fulltime DJing.

His career began to take off when his friend and mentor Frankie Knuckles took him on as his protégé in 1991. David Morales and Danny Tenaglia also helped him.

From 1992 through 1996 Manny opened Fridays at the Sound Factory Bar and played the "deep room". At the height of his career in the mid-1990s, Manny disappeared, retreating from the house music forefront and keeping a very low profile.

At the invitation of David Morales, Manny came to Montreal and immediately fell in love with the club and Montrealers’ “passion for music.” Bitten by the house music bug once again, Ward reinstated his place at the head of the NYC scene, working the decks alongside the likes of Angel Moraes, Lord G and Danny Tenaglia.

Producer

Manny is best known for his early work with Eightball Records. Kevin Williams, who was A&R for Eightball Records literally threw Manny in the studio saying, "You're doing a remix of this record." and he did his first remix with Konrad Correlli engineering. Result is "Sister, Sister" by Al Mack featuring Vanessa Evelyn.

He released original productions and remixes for Joi Cardwell, Junior Vasquez, Eileen Barton and the others. The Barton release "To Call My Own" (Right Shift) moved up to position #15 Billboard (Dance Club Play Charts) and position #1 at Sirius Radio (OUTQ Charts) in 2006.
