Rob Baker (cricketer)

Rob Baker (cricketer)

Robert Michael Baker (born July 24 1975 in Perth, Western Australia) is an Australian first-class cricketer who plays for Western Australia. He is a right-hand batsman and occasional slow left-arm orthodox bowler.

He was captain of the Australian Under 19 side in 1993 and 1994 and attended the Commonwealth Bank Cricket Academy in 1994 also.

He showed great promise as a junior cricketer - being a sillful middle-ofder batsman and handy bowler.

His career has suffered many setbacks, most notably a fractured cheek, which occurred in a collision (on-field) with a team mate in club cricket and being diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome in 2000.

Baker was the first Western Australian to take a hat-trick in a domestic one-day match.
