Mannanur is a picturesque village on the banks of Bharathappuzha river in Palakkad district of Kerala state in India. The other prominent landmarks are the Railway station and the Upper Primary School.
The Village belongs to the Vaniyamkulam Panchayat and is purely an agro-economical location. The traditional farming system of rice cultivation and vegetables are still found there. Unfortunately, the economic changes of the past few years had made some changes in the working nature of the society here. Uncontrolled sand mining has supposedly reduced the Bharathappuzha river (Nila) to just a stream. There is a lot of exploitation towards the workers which has not improved their lot.
