Signal 2 is a British Independent Local Radio station. The station is owned by UTV Radio and runs a "gold format" (recent oldies) playlist.

Controversy

It appears Signal 2, possibly even Signal 1, has changed it's format since it began networking with the UTV Radio Network. First, it went from being a local station to this networking lark, which brought about the introduction of Cash Time hosted by Dave Armstrong sometimes seen on Bid.tv which soon changed to the format Phone Phone Live hosted by Gary King.Currently Money On Your Mobile"' hosted by Paul Fairclough.

Before even this happened, they sacked loved DJ Sam Plank claiming that they needed to bring in more listeners of a different age group - a similar event occurred with another well-loved DJ Ray Crowther - The main question that must be raised is how long will it be before they get rid of Doug Wood and Johnny Owen?
