holotype and six other specimens (allcuttlebone s) described byTom Iredale in 1954. It is possibly ajunior synonym of "Sepia bandensis ". The placement of "S. bartletti" in the genus "Sepia" is also questionable. The
type specimen was collected in theMisima andConflict Group of theLouisiade Archipelago , to the southeast ofPapua New Guinea . It is deposited at theAustralian Museum inSydney .References
