Marylebone inLondon , he was the son ofCaptain Sir William Abdy, 6th Baronet and Mary Brebner-Gordon. Abdy was educated atEton College andChrist Church, Oxford , where he matriculated on27 January 1796 . He served in theSouth Essex Militia , reaching the rank ofLieutenant in 1798, and in theSouthwark Volunteers , reaching that ofSecond Lieutenant . On21 July 1803 , he succeeded to his father'sbaronet cy. Between 1817 and 1818, he wasMember of Parliament (MP) for Malmesbury.On
3 July 1806 , he married LadyAnne Wellesley , daughter of the 2nd Earl of Mornington inHyde Park Corner , London. They were divorced in 1816. Abdy died childless inBerkeley Square in London. With his death the baronetcy became extinct.References
