Marquee Mark, the Crust Brothers' only album, was released by the small Telemomo label on October 15, 1998. It is a live recording of the band's December 5, 1997, show at the Crocodile Cafe in Seattle, Washington. The bulk of the repertoire is drawn from songs associated with Bob Dylan and The Band's Basement Tapes. In addition, Stephen Malkmus sang lead on Silkworm's "Never met a man I didn't like," effectively making Marquee Mark a covers album from beginning to end.

Marquee Mark is also an exploration of the "chooglin'" sound, a rock style popularized by Creedence Clearwater Revival. The Crust Brothers' cover of "Heard it through the grapevine" is indebted to CCR's version; similarly their arrangement of Dylan's "Please, Mrs. Henry" is modeled on a 1977 live version of the song by Cheap Trick.
