There are two Vermilion Rivers in the province of Ontario, Canada.
Northeastern Ontario
The Vermilion River in Sudbury District and Greater Sudbury is a tributary of the Spanish River, which empties into Lake Huron.
This river has its source in the Sudbury District near Halfway Lake. It flows southward into the city of Greater Sudbury to the neighbourhood of Capreol, where it turns southwesterly toward Dowling. It picks up the Onaping River as a tributary north of Larchwood, and then continues southwesterly to Vermilion Lake [ [http://www.city.greatersudbury.on.ca/cms/index.cfm?app=div_lakewaterquality&lang=en&currID=676&parID=619 Lake Water Quality ] ] , from whence it flows southerly to Whitefish. It forms the boundary between Greater Sudbury and the Whitefish Lake reserve for about six kilometres south from Whitefish, and then flows westerly once more toward its terminus at the Spanish River in Espanola.
Northwestern Ontario
The Vermilion River in Kenora District empties into Lac Seul, which is drained by the English River.
