Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corporation

The Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation, abbreviated locally as EVSC, located in Vanderburgh County is the third largest school district in the state of Indiana, behind Indianapolis Public Schools and Fort Wayne Community Schools. The district comprises five high schools, ten middle schools, 20 elementary schools, three alternative schools and two charter schools. The school district serves nearly 23,000 students educated by more than 1,600 teachers. There are a total of 31 employees in the corporation.

Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation's current superintendent is Dr. Vincent Bertram.

School of Academic & Career Development

Signature School

Indiana's first public charter high school. It is a magnet school for specialized education in math and science, fine and performing arts, or liberal arts/humanities. Prepares students for college education. Located at the Victory Theater in Downtown Evansville.

Southern Indiana Career & Technical Center

Provides education in the areas of agriculture, business and marketing, family and consumer sciences, health careers, and trade and industry arts. Prior to 2004, most of these areas were educated at North High School. In terms of enrollment, the EVSC has one of the largest CTE programs in the State of Indiana. Administration

Superintendent's Office
* The current superintendent is Dr. Vincent Bertram. He started the job on July 1, 2007. He has added new positions to the school corporation to create the capacity to carry out the Strategic Plan with a core focus of Student Success. The Core Focus initiatives to support the goal include: Early Childhood Education; Professional Development; Technology; Innovative School Models and Family, School and Community Partnerships.

Chief of Staff
* Rudy Montejano is the corporation's Chief of Staff. As such he is the second in charge in the absence of the superintendent and heads up the development areas; safety and security; and legal matters.

Associate Superintendent
* Dr. Cathlin Gray is the Associate Superintendent of Family, School and Community Partnerships and will lead the new Center for Family, School and Community Partnerships that is expected to open at 123 Main Street, Evansville, by October.

Chief Academic Officer
* Patricia Melton is the corporation's Chief Academic Officer. She, along with the instruction team, intervention team and the deputy chief academic officer, are working to bring about change and improvements to the instruction and ultimate success of EVSC's students.

Chief Financial Officer
* Margaret Conway is the EVSC Chief Financial Officer and has been charged with finding ways for the corporation to save money, and helping the corporation to be more transparent in regard to its financial structure.
