Campbell Mattinson (born 1968) is an
Australia n writer and critic who has specialised in wine since 2000. He began a journalism cadetship in 1987 and has worked as a journalist, editor, publisher, and freelance writer ever since.Mattinson was born in the
Melbourne suburb of Williamstown and has spent the vast bulk of his time living in Melbourne's western suburbs. He worked for a stockbroker inBirmingham ,England , as a dishwasher in an Indian restaurant, and as a proof reader of telephone directories. He has been the writer and editor of the Internet wine site and newsletter "The Wine Front" since May 2002. He contributes articles to "The Bulletin " and "Gourmet Traveller Wine" in Australia, and has published widely through food and wine magazines since 2000. He has won sports writing awards and short story awards in Australia, and more recently awards for his wine writing.Fact|date=August 2008Mattinson has recently released a biography of one of the pioneers of the Australian wine industry, Maurice O'Shea, called "Wine Hunter".
