Nishine (西根町 Nishine-chō ) was a town located in Iwate District, Iwate, Japan.
On September 1, 2005 Nishine, along with the town of Ashiro, and the village of Matsuo, was merged to form the city of Hachimantai and no longer exists as an independent municipality.
As of 2003, the town had an estimated population of 18,679 and a density of 111.74 persons per km². The total area was 167.16 km².
