Clifton Road is the main street in the wealthy Clifton neighbourhood of Saddar Town in Karachi, Pakistan. Its name dates from the British Colonial rule. Important landmarks on this road include the British Deputy High Commission and French embassy.
70 Clifton Road is a famous home of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, President of Pakistan in the early 1970s, and later used as a jail for his daughter Benazir Bhutto, prime minister of Pakistan in the late eighties and the mid nineties. Mir Murtaza Bhutto, the elder son of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, also lived there and was killed by the police near the main gate in the late 1990s. His daughter Fatima Bhutto now lives there with her stepmother Ghinwa Bhutto and half-brother Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Jr. At 90 and 100 Clifton Road the Bhutto family run the SZABIST, named after Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, a graduate school of science and technology offering degrees in computer science. .
