The seat was named after
Feltham , a town in the west of the historic county ofMiddlesex . The constituency is to the south and east ofHeathrow Airport . In 1965 the area became part ofGreater London and theLondon Borough of Hounslow .The constituency consisted of part of one and the whole of another local government areas. The Cranford and Hounslow Heath wards of the
Municipal Borough of Heston and Isleworth were added to the Urban District of Feltham.Before 1955 Feltham had been part of the Spelthorne constituency. The rest of the new constituency had been part of the Heston and Isleworth seat.
In the redistribution which took effect in early 1974, this constituency was abolished. There had been changes in local government arrangements since 1955. The area became part of a new Feltham and Heston seat, which also included
Heston and part ofHounslow to the east of the old constituency.Members of Parliament
