Compass FM servingGrimsby ,Cleethorpes andImmingham but this station follows an older-sounding format than the rest of the network.Unusually for the UK radio market, the group has grown completely by license award, rather than by acquisition of existing stations. October 2007 has marked a departure from this ethos, with the group's first acquisition -
Oak 107 FM , previously owned by theCN Group .Branding
Each stations logo is green and purple as these are the company colours; these logos feature heavily in each stations merchandise. On air each station uses the same jingle package resung with their station name, with the exception of Compass FM who have a different format.
Licence bid failure
In
2006 the group made a bid to win the Hull licence along with six other groups. [ [http://www.ofcom.org.uk/radio/ifi/rbl/car/ifmapps/hull/list/ Ofcom report Hull] ] The format for the Lincs bid was the same of that of Compass FM; this is thought to be because Lincs FM already overlaps theNorth East Lincolnshire area. The station went under the working title of "White Rose Radio"; this was to reflect the white rose ofYorkshire . The group did not win the licence and lost out toKingston upon Hull basedKCFM [ [http://www.ofcom.org.uk/radio/ifi/rbl/car/awards/hull/ Ofcom Award Hull] ]References
