Elijah Carrington (
March 25 ,1914 —November 19 ,1998 ) was an Englishcricket er. He was a right-handed batsman who played for Derbyshire between 1934 and 1937. He was born in Blackwell and died inHillcote .Elijah debuted for Derbyshire during the 1934 season, in which Derbyshire finished in third position in the table. He averaged over 20 in his first season, hitting two half-centuries. He bettered this with five half-centuries from the middle-order, representing Derbyshire against the South Africans during the 1935 season.
Derbyshire were to hit unparalleled highs during the 1936 season, as they were victorious in the County Championship for the first and only time in their history. Carrington hit a half-century during this season, as well as making more appearances during this season than in any other.
During 1937, Carrington's last season in Derbyshire colours, Derbyshire finished in third position, however, at the age of 23, Carrington was dropped from the team. He continued in the middle order until leaving the club.
