- USA Parkway
-
USA Parkway is a 21-mile (34 km) 4 lane highway being constructed between Interstate 80 and U.S. Route 50 in Nevada. It connects to I-80 near Tracy Clark Station in Storey County, and will eventually continue south to connect with US 50 at the Ramsey-Weeks Cutoff near Silver Springs in Lyon County. Formerly proposed as State Route 805, the road is being built privately by the owners of an industrial park.[1]
USA Parkway is being constructed to serve the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center (TRIC), a large industrial park being developed east of Reno. The completion of the parkway is expected to cut one hour off the trip between Reno and Las Vegas.[1] In addition, USA Parkway will link TRIC with Silver Springs Airport, providing access to convenient air-freight shipping.[2]
As of August 2009, 10 miles (16 km) of the highway has been completed, with additional 4 miles (6.4 km) awaiting asphalt, with an additional 7 miles (11 km) to U.S. Route 50 remaining.[3]
