Edakkara (എടക്കര) is a very small town in the Malappuram district, Kerala India. It is located near Gudalur, Tamil Nadu, about 37 km away. Edakkara is a scenic little town due to its proximity to mountainous areas to the east. The nearest town is Nilambur, about 15 km away. A vast component of the population have relatives working abroad in the Gulf or USA.

Agriculture is the primary occupation with rubber and pepper as the primary crops cultivated. Rice fields and coconut trees are cultivated aggressively also.

Palemad is near by Edakkara,There is one Big school in Malappuram, its name is sree vivekanandha higher secondary school.
