Sacred Heart-Griffin High School, often abbreviated SHG is Springfield, Illinois' largest private high school. The high school is Roman Catholic, and on the school's campus is a motherhouse for a Dominican order of religious sisters. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Springfield in Illinois.

Tuition

Since SHG is a private school there are tuition and fees that the students must pay to attend. The tuition is higher for non-Catholic students. There are also different fees depending on if you are the first, second, third, or fourth child in the family to attend the school.

Athletics

The boys sports teams are known as the "Cyclones", while the girls are the "Blazers"cite web|url=http://www.shg.org|title=Sacred Heart-Griffin High School|accessdate=2007-05-11|author=SHGHS] In the fall they offer Football, Cross Country, Boys Soccer, Boys and Girls Golf, Girls Swimming, Volleyball, and Girls Tennis. In the Winter SHG has Boys and Girls Basketball, Cheerleading, Hockey, Poms, Boys Swimming, and Wrestling. In the spring the Sacred Heart Griffin plays Baseball, Softball, Girls Soccer, Boys and Girls Track, and Boys Tennis.

With two State Championships, 4 State Runner-Up Awards, 28 Playoff Appearances, 47 Playoff wins and a .752 overall winning percentage, the football tradition is a strong one. Since 2000, SHG has had an incredibly successful run, compiling an 90-9 record and 8 straight playoff appearances, including back-to-back State Championships in 2005 & 2006 and a 2003 State Runner-Up finish. In 2007 the Sacred Heart-Griffin (SHG) High School football coach Ken Leonard was named Coach of the Year by the National Federation of State High School (NFHS) Coaches Association.
