Route description

PA 324 along its route has many other route names it goes by. The streets on the route are Pequea Boulevard, Marticville Road, New Danville Pike, and Queen Street

The route begins in the village of Pequea at the intersection of River Road, a mile from the Pequea Creek Recreational Area. The very rural route winds north through Martic and Pequea township to the intersection, and small concurrency with PA 741. The route continues north, paralleling the Conestoga River into Lancaster City, before terminating at US 222/PA 272 (Northbound) on Queen Street.

History

The route was signed as PA 124 in 1928. In the same year, the route underwent construction from Silver Mine Road to New Danville. This work was completed by the following year. [2]

In 1936, the designation was removed from the current Pennsylvania Route 741 alignment between PA 324 and US 222/PA 272 and placed on its current alignment, while getting its current route number. [3]

Major intersections

The entire route is in Lancaster County.
