LocusSupplementaryData =Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 14 (CCL14) is a small
cytokine belonging to the CCchemokine family. It is also commonly known as HCC-1. It is produced as aprotein precursor that is procesed to generate a mature activeprotein containing 74amino acid s that and is 46% identical in amino acid composition toCCL3 andCCL4 . This chemokine is expressed in various tissues includingspleen ,bone marrow ,liver ,muscle , andgut . [Schulz-Knappe et al., HCC-1, a novel chemokine from human plasma. J. Exp. Med., 1996, 183: 295-299.] CCL13 activatesmonocyte s, but does not induce theirchemotaxis . Human CCL13 is located onchromosome 17 within a cluster of other chemokines belonging to the CC family. [Naruseet al., A YAC contig of the human CC chemokine genes clustered on chromosome 17q11.2. Genomics, 1996, 34: 236-240. ]References
