Gulf Coast Raiders

Gulf Coast Raiders

The Gulf Coast Raiders was an indoor football team. They were a 2007 expansion member of the American Indoor Football Association and played their entire 2007 schedule on the road. The team was previously announced as the Gulf Coast Pirates.

The team was named after the previous Gulf Coast Raiders, the former Southern States Football League team based in Tampa, Florida that AIFA co-owner Michael Mink owned (and later merged with the Hernando Eagles) and previously used as a replacement team for the Montgomery Maulers in a National Indoor Football League game against Osceola Football soon after purchasing the Maulers. However, the AIFA team's history is not considered a continuation of that team's.
