"Green Thumbs Down" is an episode of "Garfield and Friends". It originally aired on December 3, 1988.

Episode recap

After Jon gets his groceries delivered to the house, he looks at the bill and then says that groceries are too expensive. He then decides to grow his own vegetables in the backyard, like he used to do when he grew up on the farm. After a few days the vegetables don’t appear to be growing, so he goes to a garden shop and buys seedlings.
After he plants the seedlings, several bunnies show up to eat the vegetables; Jon then orders Garfield and Odie to protect the garden. An orphan rabbit appears to be causing most of the trouble, and after he steals vegetables and then disappears down a rabbit hole, Garfield and Odie use the garden hose to “flush him out”. The strength of the water causes the entire garden to flood and then ruins it.
Jon scolds Garfield and Odie for ruining the garden, but then he apologizes when he sees the rabbit angrily leave. Odie then points out a head of lettuce and a few radishes that had been salvaged from the flood. Later, they go into the kitchen and eat the vegetables, and Jon calculates how much money he saved. Along with all the supplies he purchased, he concludes that the lettuce actually "cost" him $200 per leaf, and the radishes cost $300 each.

Goofs

*One of the animals who are about to devour the crops were "Rabbits, Rabbits, Rabbits, and more rabbits," but you can see that they're too small too jump over the gate.
*The mozzerella cheese in Jon's bag appears to be swiss cheese, not mozzerella.

Notes

*Jon gets his groceries delivered from Roman Mart.
*Odie is the only one that doesn’t appear upset when the vegetables don’t start to grow.
